States Auglaize County Historical Society administrator Rachel Barber, “Gordon State Park is a pivotal chapter in Grand Lake history and St. Marys history. We know that many area residents will be excited to learn more about this former landmark.”

Gordon State Park was located on the northeast corner of Grand Lake State Marys, and included the land from what is now the state marina to State Route 364. The park opened on July 4, 1924, but was plagued by disaster, including two fires, a tornado, and the Great Depression.  It closed in 1933.
